ABOUT GRIDIRON GIRL
I love football. Like a lot. Growing up, I really didn’t have a choice. My dad is obsessed with all sports, but especially football. I remember watching games from his knee before I could walk and running patterns during halftime once I could.
Sports have always been a part of my life and I like it that way. But football is an obsession.
I’ve been to 44% of the NFL stadiums and visiting them all is a lifelong goal.
I bleed New York Giants blue (it’s an actual color – Pantone: PMS 2758C!) and cheer enthusiastically for the Giants.
I almost took out a second mortgage to go to Super Bowl XLII (42), it was on my bday and the Giants beat the undefeated Patriots. I picked a good one!
I read and watch football daily and can hold my own with most men on trivia, players, play calls, strategy, history, rules, etc. And I often show ‘em up. Just sayin’.
I believe the absolute best weekend of the year is the opening NFL weekend.
I know the difference between a 3-4 defense and a 4-3 defense. More on this later.
I named my dog after Giants Stadium – “Meadow” for the Meadowlands, it’s now MetLife , but whatever.
I can identify most NFL players by looking at their picture. Yes, really.
I have speakers in my bathroom (thanks Sonos) so I don’t miss anything during a game – you can’t always “go” during commercials, right?
I love, like really, really love jewelry. While this might seem unrelated to football, trust me, it’s not. Have you seen the bling on the big boys?
If I’m honest, I get a little depressed after the Super Bowl, but I quickly recover thanks to sports radio!
Xs & Os (kisses and hugs, but also offense (X’s) and defense (O’s)--yep, really),
